Someone pointed out to me, as I kept saying that each place I went to was better than the last, that I am potentially just falling in love with the art form that is tacos at every restaurant that I go to, Which is, I'll admit possible. This Taco Tour will have to be culminated in some sort of Taco Fest where I hit the best of the best from the year to avoid this. As for now, I'm content with reestablishing my relationship with tacos every week. And lemme tell ya, La Vaca did not fail to deliver.
This was our first Pilsen location and we ordered: the Pilsen taco, Al Pastor taco, a Fish Taco I Can't Remember the Name Of (Ahh!), the Cerveza taco, and La Vaca taco
The tacos, point blank, were perfection. I would argue as good as, or better than Bullhead Cantina - which is winning in the rankings, by the way. Perfectly seasoned, not too experimental. Also, considerably easier to get to from the loop.
The vibe inside was truly great. Trendy, but not trendy. It didn't have that polished and new feeling, but that old feeling. The GOOD old feeling. Ja feel? I definitely would come here for food and drinks before a night out. And I found out this is just around the corner from one of my really good friends places. (Bonus?)
Overall, crazy impressed with La Vaca. Would go back. Would recommend.
